Wasatch County Library Goes Live on Koha and Aspen with ByWater Support
ByWater Solutions, America’s forefront provider of Open Source library technology support, announced today that Wasatch County Library of Heber City, Utah is now live on Koha! They are joining the Uintah Basin Library Consortium which is made up of libraries from Vernal, Roosevelt and Duchesne Utah.
ByWater completed the transition of the libraries' 95,000 plus holdings from Horizon ILS and is providing ongoing support services to the library. Wasatch's Koha system will be working in concert with Aspen Discovery to provide patrons seamless access to all of the library's print, electronic, and enhanced content resources.
The libraries' customized Aspen Discovery interface can be viewed at https://catalog.wasatchlibrary.org/.
Juan Tomás Lee, Library Director at Wasatch County Library recently commented on the migration.
Migrating to the Koha ILS brings many benefits; for example, the clean and intuitive interface lets staff focus on the customer and not on the options on the screen. Koha enables us to streamline processes for better management of the collection and the circulation of materials. Aspen Discovery enhances our customers’ experience by giving them more control over their accounts and by meeting their expectations of high-quality online services in the 21st century. Also, joining the Uintah Basin Libraries Consortium will expand our customers’ access to materials. We are very happy to join the Koha Community and we are extremely grateful for ByWater Solutions staff who patiently guided us every step of the way and tirelessly worked to meet an impossibly tight schedule.
