Question: A patron has a book on hold, their friend is allowed to get it for him. How can the library check it out to the friend and also cancel the hold for the original patron?

A patron has a book on hold, their friend is allowed to get it for him. How can the library check it out to the friend and also cancel the hold for the original patron?

Answer: Koha can do that! Wahoo.

When a book on hold is attempted to be checked out to another patron, Koha will display a big yellow box with lots of choices:

If the library does in fact want to check it out to the friend and cancel the hold, the library will mark the "cancel hold' option and "Yes to checkout".

Streamlining the holds process! Yes!
